EVANGELISM AND MUSIC

Evangelism: is the sharing of GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST (testimony) in order to convince, not to convict, someone (audience) to accept HIM as LORD.

Evangelism is a command not a suggestion or option. The great Commission is not the great Suggestion, “go ye therefore......”- Matthew 28:19-20, John20:21, Mark16:15-20, Matthew10:7-8, Prov11:30, Acts28:28, Romans10:14-15; 2Tim1:7, John14:12, Acts1v8.

Soul Winning is not a program but a PASSION

Soul Winning is not an event but a LIFE-STYLE

Soul Winning are the currency of ETERNITY

God trusted Abraham – Gen 18:17-19.

We are called and saved for a purpose – John15:6. Evangelism is like a baton in a relay – 1 Cor 9:24; Heb 12:1, pass on the baton through evangelism. This is food for thought.

Most of the Churches don’t have a department called Evangelism; it doesn’t even appear on paper let alone taking any action in that regard (Acts 6:1-4). No wonder, we have ‘Christian relocation’ rather than immigrants in Christendom

We are called to be fishers of men; Matthew 4:19.

SOME OF THE NECESSARY COMPONENTS OF EVANGELISM

POWER- This is the most important instrument needed in making great exploit for God- Acts of Apostle 1v8.

GOSPEL mean good news, there is no good news in the World. JESUS CHRIST should be the centre of our message, not personality or denomination. Mattthew4v23.

CONVEYOR, you are the Conveyor of the GOSPEL. You are the mouth-piece of God. Everything about you matters in Evangelism – 2Cor3v2-3.

TARGETED AUDIENCE is mainly the NON-CHRISTIAN-THE LOST ONE, though we are asked to teach every creature – Mark16v15-20.

THE MAJOR AIM OF EVANGELISM IS TO BRING SOULS TO GOD, THROUGH CHRIST.

MIND OR HEART is the important part of man that controls his entire life, Matth5v8. Windows to the mind of man are;

•        EAR: what man hears influences his life – Romans 10v14-15.
•         EYE: what man sees influences his life – Matthew5v28, Job31v1.
•        FEELING AND TASTE these also affect man’s life positively or negatively, 2Tim3v2-5.

     Choir is a strong agent of evangelism with the instrument of music for great exploit.
          What types of music are we singing? 
           What is the source of our inspiration?
           What motive do we have, while singing? 
            How prepared are we before singing?
      Who are we as Choir?
      This is food for thought.
